Fashion District, in collaboration with the Fashion Innovation Agency, has launched the Retail Futures 2020: Fashion District Innovation Challenge Prize.
What is Retail Futures 2020?
Fashion District innovation challenges aim to find innovative solutions to current industry issues across retail, manufacture and design. It gives startups and SMEs the opportunity to win cash prizes and support, as well as the chance to pitch to retailers and innovators.
The challenge is open to applications from tech startups that have the potential to tackle challenges or present new opportunities in fashion and retail supply chains. Potential solutions could include:
Developing community engagement
Sustainable supply chain and retail
Enriching retail data
Creating creative and experiential retail moments.
What’s on offer?
A cash prize of £15,000 for the winner to invest in their idea, along with two runner-up prizes of £5,000. All three winners will receive two one-year hot-desking memberships at The Trampery Fish Island Village.
The winner will also receive a 12-month membership to Stylus.com, which provides access to consumer insight and free entry to Decoded Future London 2021.
What’s the deadline?
The deadline for applications is July 1 2020, and the finals event will be held in October 2020.
The FinTech Innovation Lab London is a three-month global accelerator programme for ambitious start ups. It provides mentoring, networking and support, and is suitable for early and growth-stage companies with at least a beta technology or product with applications in the fintech sector.
Blenheim Chalcot is a venture builder to support the growth of digital businesses that transform industries. A venture builder works with start ups and typically takes care of raising money and looking after business operations. This leaves the start up free to focus on building their product.

The Activate Startup Programme is aimed at early-stage companies with outstanding digital ideas. Through the programme, participants can access specialist support, mentoring and expertise to develop their idea into a viable, investor-ready business. Participants can also access funding in exchange for equity in their business.
Accelerator Academy is a 12-week programme to prepare ambitious start ups for growth and investment through training, mentoring and access to capital. It is focused on early-stage and high-growth-potential firms in the tech, media and telecom sectors. Participants receive 150 hours of training, mentoring and support, as well as free workspace for the duration of the programme.
Reactor London in Shoreditch is a hub for developers and start ups. It offers training, technical content, networking events, meetups, hackathons and events focused on cloud and artificial intelligence technologies.
Level39 is a community of 1,250 leaders in cybersecurity, fintech and retail tech. It provides a range of membership options for tech firms looking to access desk and office space through Level39. Members also benefit from PR opportunities and access to mentors, investors and regular events.
