The Mayor of London, in partnership with the London Growth Hub, has launched the Civic Innovation Challenge. The Challenge is calling on tech start-ups and small and medium-sized firms to develop innovative solutions to London’s biggest challenges.
There are seven Civic Innovation Challenges, which have been chosen for their potential to support an ageing population, tackle climate change and reduce inequality. The challenges are:
- Dementia services
- Active travel
- Electric vehicles
- Delivering affordable homes
- Financial inclusion and digital skills
- Loneliness and isolation
- Physical activity
Each challenge is sponsored by a leading corporate or public body who will work with successful applicants to test their solutions. Participants will also receive access to potential customers, workshops and mentoring, as well as up to £15,000 to support testing.
The Civic Innovation Challenge is currently closed to new applications.
