The SME Energy Improvement Grants Programme provides grants to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Tower Hamlets to carry out energy reduction projects. Grants for up to 50% of project costs up to a maximum of £5,000 are available.
The programme aims to reduce the energy consumption and carbon emissions of SMEs, as well as lead to cost savings for SMEs through reduced energy bills.
An organisation is eligible to receive a grant if they are an SME by meeting all of the following criteria:
- Have no more than 250 employees.
- Annual turnover less than £25 million.
- Not more than 25% owned by an entity which does not meet the criteria.
In addition, the premises where the measures will be installed must be in Tower Hamlets.
The following projects are eligible to receive funding:
- Energy reduction projects. For example lighting and heating upgrades, insulation and more efficient equipment.
- Renewable technologies.
- Any project which can demonstrate that it will achieve acceptable energy savings will be considered.
To find out more, read a case study of a completed project.
